Blacksmith Safety

You are working with metal that reaches temperatures that can seriously harm you and you are hammering on metal that causes hot spark to fly.  So I want to keep you safe.  That requires you to think about your safety.  We will review the shop safety rules on your arrival. You should plan on wearing long sleeves and long pants, (denim, flannel) a cap, leather boots above the ankle.  Layer your cloths, temperatures fluctuate in the forge and you want to comfortable.  If you have a favourite pair of safety glasses, bring them with you, if you have purchased a personal forging hammer you will want to bring it with you. Bring a notebook to take notes.
